Guidance For Graduates: Why You're Not Getting Callbacks

If you're a graduate struggling to get callbacks, this one's for you, and don't worry, it's not as bad as you think.

With over 20 years of experience interviewing people, here's my thoughts on what holds graduates back (all of which is fixable).

1. The same CV for every job

Tailor it. It can take time and it's exhausting, but it really does make a difference.

2. Missing the cover letter

If a job asks for a cover letter and you miss it, that's your first impression gone.

3. Not researching the company

Really show them why you want to be there.

4. Underselling yourself

If you didn't add your placement or any volunteering work, it all counts.

5. An unprofessional email address

It really makes a big difference, and it's a small change.

You've got this

The job market is really tough out there right now, and it can be so disheartening getting rejection after rejection. But focus on these small fixes and you'll get there. You've worked really hard to get here, so let's make sure it shows.
